Members of the Montaukett Tribe of Long Island will conduct a series of hands-on workshops of traditional and contemporary Native American arts. Adults and children can participate in one or more of the workshops.


Workshops are $5.00 per person per workshop. All participants must register. Children under 5 are free but must register. To register print out a form and mail in to the museum or call the museum with your information. You may mail in payment or pay at the door.


Workshops will be offered at 11 am & 1 pm each day as follows:

1. Saturday, October 5 Tribal history with Chief Redfeather, Robert Stevenson

2. Saturday, October 12 Seashell Beach Mosaic art with Terry Rious

3. Saturday, October 19 Tribal Turkey feather fans with Tina Thompson

4. Saturday, October 26 Native American Indian Jewelry with Cheryl Hendrickson

5. Saturday, November 2 Ribbon shirts (must bring shirt) with Al Hendrickson

6. Saturday, November 9 participatory storytelling & music

7. Saturday, November 16 - Native American Indian dance with Lance White Magpie
