1-hour exclusive use of Outer Exhibit Hall: includes Woodland Village, inner & outer covered decks with beautiful views of our nature preserve with refreshments you provide.
Plus, 1/2 hour setup & 1/2 hour cleanup.
Alcohol, balloons, & pinatas prohibited!
Price includes 15 children, no minimum. Birthday child free!
Up to 25 children max:
Family-Plus Member: $10 each, non-member: $12 each additional child.
All adults & children under 2 free.
Personalized invitations & directions included if desired.
Optional add-ons: Additional time, $100/hr. Additional program, $200.

NATURE PARTY THEMES

BEACH EXPLORATION (Ages 4-11)
Explore the shoreline for snails, crabs, shells and more! Discover the life of the intertidal zone, use a hand lens, and how to use a simple key for the identification of sea creatures. Must be scheduled during low tide. Sneakers recommended!

I-SPY NATURE HUNT (Ages 4-11)
Explore the outdoors like never before! Children will partake in an outdoor I-SPY scavenger hunt and get up close and personal with the curiosities of the natural world!

INVESTIGATING INSECTS & SPIDERS (Ages 4-11)
Kids are born explorers! Discover the varied beetles, butterflies, spiders & more of our meadow & gardens! Children will get to use bug catchers & jars, magnifiers, insect ID sheets, and will learn proper use of an insect net! **Indoor Insect Discovery option available if inclement weather. Offered Spring-Fall.

FAIRY GARDEN PARTY (Ages 4-10)
Frolic our fields and gardens in search of butterflies, flowers, and all the magic nature has to offer. Create your own magic wand with flowers, twigs, and other natural materials. Best Spring-Fall.

NATURE SLIME TIME (Ages 4-10)
Learn about the wild ways of snails, frogs, and other animals that use slime to survive. Play with and explore a variety of slime recipes!

Each child will take home their own colorful slime creation with glitter and mix-ins! Slime can be customized to different nature topics.

DISCOVERY PARTY THEMES

DISCOVERING DINOSAURS (Ages 4-10)
Explore the world of dinosaurs! Learn about plant vs. meat eaters, teeth & claws, all about fossils & more! *Children will make and take home their own "fossil" using self-hardening clay. Meet Duncan the Dinosaur, our life-like puppet that actually roars!

EXPLORING NATIVE AMERICAN POTTERY (Ages 5-11)
Children will learn about Native American culture and partake in hands-on exploration of pottery and the making of pottery using traditional Native American methods. Children will make a pottery vessel to take home!
Non-member: $400 • Family-Plus Member: $375

ROCKS, MINERALS, GEMS & JEWELS (Ages 7-12)
Hands-on investigation of scientific tests for color of streak, luster, and hardness on variety of minerals. Discover fluorescence and double refraction! NEW! Mine & sift rocks and minerals from our Rock Discovery Table! Kids will receive Garvies Point Museum Gem Mining drawstring pouch to fill with their treasures to take home!

WILDERNESS SURVIVAL (Ages 6-11)
Try out prehistoric tools to drill holes in stone, grind corn, and start a fire! Learn how to build a fire and construct a shelter with natural materials. Search the forest for native foods and learn how early people used their environment to survive.

Art Rocks! (Ages 4-11)
Make awesome art inspired by nature!
Explore our collection of colorful rocks and minerals and experiment with color-mixing!
Then, create your own rock art masterpiece! Choose between Mineral Mosaic Art or Rock Painting

Science Investigators (Ages 5-11)
Experience awesome hands-on science experiments!
Create a chemical reaction with baking soda and vinegar.
Make groovy lava lamps with oil and water. Play with wiggly goo worms and learn all about the science behind them.
