HABITAT HIKE & SUMMER SCAVENGER HUNT

Explore the varied habitats of our 62-acre nature preserve from woodland and meadow to pond and shoreline, with an I-spy scavenger hunt along the way!
10:30am - 3:30pm, every 1/2 hour
NATURE IMPRINT CRAFT:
$5.00 each plus admission.

July 12th | 11:00am - 12:00pm & 2:00pm - 3:00pm

BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES & POLLINATOR PALS
Join us as we explore our native habitat gardens in search of a variety of butterflies, moths, and other pollinators! Use bug catchers, magnifiers, nets & field guides.
10:30am - 3:30pm, every 1/2 hour
PRESS-FLORAL LANTERN WORKSHOP Design a glass lantern with a lovely floral motif. $10 each plus admission, $8 for members.

July 19th | 11:00am - 12:00pm & 2:00pm - 3:00pm

SEASHORE LIFE & SEINING
Explore the shore for crabs, snails, seashells & more! See our large seine (net) in action to discover sub-tidal (underwater) critters! Water shoes welcome.
10:30am - 3:30pm, every 1/2 hour
SAND-CASTING CRAFT:
Make an artistic keepsake of the shoreline!
$5.00 each plus admission

July 26th | 10:30am - 3:30pm, every 1/2 hour

POLYMER CLAY PENDANT WORKSHOP
Learn how to make a necklace pendant with polymer clay! $10 each plus admission/$8 for members. Ages 8+ recommended. Younger kiddos welcome with adult help.

August 2nd | 10:00am - 4:00pm

GARVIES POINT MUSEUM DAY
Full day of nature programs, beach exploration, face painting, rock & mineral ID, crafts, films, and Animal Encounters with Tackapausha Museum & Preserve (10:30am-3:00pm only)
$10 per person 5 years+. Free for Friends members

August 9th | 11:00am - 12:00pm & 2:00pm - 3:00pm

POND LIFE DISCOVERY

With buckets, nets & magnifiers, join us as we dip into the world of the pond! Observe small animals & insects that live in the pond. Wear sneakers. All ages. All wildlife will be returned to their habitat.
10:30am - 3:30pm, every 1/2 hour
FROGGY POND SLIME CRAFT:
All you need to make slime with fun mix-ins! $8 each plus admission

August 16th | 11:00am - 12:00pm & 2:00pm - 3:00pm

GARVIES GEOLOGY & BEACH WALK
Experience our stream erosion table in action and how water sculpts the land! Discover the unique natural formations of our rocky beach and nature preserve. Sneakers recommended.
10:30am - 3:30pm, every 1/2 hour
MINERAL MOSAIC CRAFT:
Design your own piece of mosaic art! $5 each plus admission

August 23rd | 10:30am - 3:30pm, every 1/2 hour

NATIVE AMERICAN POTTERY-MAKING WORKSHOP

$5 each plus admission
