July 2: WONDERS OF WILDFLOWERS WALK
See our beautiful native habitat gardens in full
bloom! Discover native vs. nonnative and how
native wildflowers support wildlife.
July 9: WHAT SHELLS TELL
Discover the varied life of our rocky shoreline
including wide assortment of seashells! as we
learn about this interesting environment! Handson
exploration for children and adults of all ages.
Sneakers recommended.
July 16: TREE-MENDOUS TREES
Did you know that oak trees support more than 200
different types of animals? Discover how important
trees are to our ecosystem. Learn how to identify
some common trees and interesting facts about
them!
July 23: MYSTERIOUS MOTHS!
Celebrate National Moth Week as we learn about
these less well-known lepidoptera! Moths are
important pollinators and food source for many
animals. Learn how to observe these beautiful
creatures at night in your own backyard!
July 30: POND LIFE DISCOVERY
With buckets, nets & magnifiers, join us as we dip
into the world of the pond! Observe small animals
& insects that live in the pond and learn all about
their life cycles. Wear sneakers. All ages.
August 13: INCREDIBLE INVERTEBRATES!
Join us as we explore our field and garden
environments in search of a variety of insects,
butterflies & more! Learn about life cycles and why
insects are so important to our ecosystem. Use bug
catchers, magnifiers, nets, & field guides!
All ages welcome!
August 20: GARVIES GEOLOGY
Discover the unique natural formation of our rocky
beach and nature preserve.
August 27: INTRO TO OUTDOOR SURVIVAL
Learn knot-tying, navigation & signaling, firemaking,
first aid, hazardous plants & animals,
identify edible plants - roots, shoots, berries &
more! Recommended 8+.
