This week all campers will be a Geologist, Archaeologist, and Paleontologist! Learn all about rocks & minerals with scientific tests & solve a mineral mystery! Uncover fossils from 400 million years ago through present times. Discover an archaeological dig, dinosaur fossil dig, explore geology of beach, LEGO building activities & more! Proper gear is essential this week! Each Ologist gets their own tool kit & hat.
Campers will discover and experience hands-on ancient tool technology and learn how to use an atlatl for spear-throwing. Learn fire-making without matches, how to safely build a campfire & outdoor survival. Beach visit to see natural clay deposits, clay processing & pottery-making. Games & storytelling, Importance & uses of trees; fort-building. Reading the forest, navigation & animal tracking. Native foods & foraging with campfire cooking.
