Hands-on exploring, discovery & activities on a variety of topics; arts & crafts; nature games & scavenger hunts; hiking; unstructured outdoor experiences; educational films; experiments & team-building & more! Workshops are held indoors and outdoors.

DIG-Ology: Can you dig it?
July 9th - 11th

  • Be a Geologist, Archaeologist, and Paleontologist this week as we piece together the past!
  • Learn all about rocks & minerals with special LEGO building activities.
  • Fascinating fossils, from 400 million years ago through present times!
  • Mock archaeology dig, dinosaur fossil dig, time capsules, & more as we uncover hidden history!

Invertebrate Investigators and Plant Power
July 16th - 18th

No backbone required to investigate the creepy, crawly world of invertebrates! Using bug catchers, magnifiers, nets, special video microscopes, and field guides as we explore variety of worms, snails, spiders, beetles, butterflies, crabs, jellyfish & more in our nature preserve! Discover the powerful plant & animal alliances that make life on earth possible!

Native American Lifeways: Gifts of the Natural World
July 23rd - 25th

  • Hands-on tool technology & spear-throwing
  • Pottery-making, games & storytelling
  • Importance of trees & shelter/fort building
  • Reading the forest & navigation
  • Friction fire, campfire building & outdoor survival skills
  • Native foods & foraging with campfire cooking

Elements of Nature
July 30th - August 1st

Discover earth, air, water, & fire with hands-on experiments! Kids will make glacier-gak, learn about volcanoes & how lava flows, how water sculpts the land, and how air makes parachutes work! Can wind help plants? Learn how the elements create essential cycles in nature: seeds, trees, rocks, water, lifecycles, seasons & more!


Awesome Animals
Aug 6th - 8th

Explore the wild world of animals from past to present! Study special abilities of prehistoric mammals, dinosaurs, birds, reptiles, and mammals. Embrace your own superpowers on our animal obstacle course! Special guest animal encounters with Tackapausha Museum during week!

Wetland Worlds
Aug 13th - 15th

Dive into the wet world of H₂O! Get your hands wet as we explore the intertidal zone and our 2 pond habitats! Shoreline seining, dipping nets, underwater viewing, water games & more!

Summer Roundup
Aug 20th - 22nd

Culminating week featuring special selection of topics! Animals, insects, outdoor survival, wetlands, & more!
